This year I decided to try a lot of new things for Thanksgiving dinner. Now I had the Acorn Squash once before a few weeks ago and liked it but this was my first time making it. For those who have never had an acorn squash before, this dish tastes just like a slice of pumpkin pie. Now the stuffing in the middle is just just stove top stuffing, nothing fancy. So I will just type in the recipe for the acorn squash.
- 1 acorn squash, cut in quarters, seeds removed
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- Place squash on a baking sheet cut side up. Place 1/2 Tbsp of butter and brown sugar in each slice. Add 1/8 tsp of nutmeg in each and season with salt. Bake until golden brown and tender, about 30- 45 minutes, basting flesh of squash several times. Serve warm.
